Services held Monday for Curly Jones Funeral services wer e held Monday, Sept. 28, for long-time Moab businessman, W . C. Curly Jones, who died at Allen Memorial Hospital in Mo ab on Thursday, Sept. 24, 1992 following a long illness. Mr . Jones, 75, operated Curlys Glass and Radiator in Moab fo r many years before his retirement. W. C. Curly Jones was b orn April 13, 1917 in Buena Vista, Tenn., a son of Claybu m and Verdie (Bond) Jones. He attended school in Tennessee . He was married on Dec. 10, 1941 to Francis Smith in Malad , Idaho, and the family moved to Moab in 1956. Mr. Jones wa s an avid out-doorsman, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Cu rley and Frances celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversar y on Dec. 10, 1991. He was a member of the U. S. Army fro m 1942 to 1945, serving in the South Pacific during World W ar II. He is survived by his wife, Frances; and five daught ers; Camylla (Fred) Butler, Garland, Utah; Valerie Payne o f New Port, Oregon; Jeanine (Jack) Kleinke of Moab; Jennife r (Thomas) Meyer of Salt Lake City, and Melodie (Rick) Robs on of Murray. He is also survived by three brothers: Rober t (Elah) Jones of Tennessee; J. C. (Pearl) Jones Jr., of Ro ckford, Illinois and Kenneth Jones of Kansas City, Mo. Als o surviving are six sisters: Ruby Wilson of Steele, Mo.; Le mith (Ray) Garrett of Kennett, Mo.; Alba (Nelson) Holbert o f Kennett, Mo.; Naola (Gene) Laz of Chicago, IL.; Ruth (Doy le) Pruett of Memphis, Tenn.; and Shirley (Dick) Bowling o f Kennctt, Mo. Mr. Jones is also survived by 18 grandchildr en and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death b y his parents, two grandchildren, Dannieae Wright and Sloa n Ossana and one brother, Clarence. Military honors were pa id Mr. Jones on Monday, by American Legion Post 54 of Moab . Burial was at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Moab under th e direction of Disch Funeral Home.2 3 4
