Bill B. RainsServices for Bill B. Rains, 63, were 2 p. m. Wednesday fromthe Main Street Chapel of George A.Smith A.Smith & Sonswith Rev. David Logan officiating. Burial was in RidgecrestCemetery. Mr. Rains died Monday morning at VeteransHospital in Memphis after a long illness. Mr. Rains was anative of Parsons, son of the late James A. and Lotta BoydRains. He spent most of his life in Jackson and lived inMemphis for 10 years. He was a retired district salesmanager for Allied Chemical Company. He was a member of St.Andrews Methodist Church. He was a World War II veteranserving in the U. S. Navy in the Pacific and serving in theKorean War in the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of CocksDaniels VFW Post 1848, the American Legion Society No. 40 &8 in Clarksville, Tennessee and a graduate of Austin PeayState University, president of the Veterans Club andpresident of the Presidents Club. He is survived by hiswife, Mary Frances Rains of Jackson; 2 daughters, Mrs.Gayle Hooten' and her husband Tony of Jackson and ConnieJacoway and her husband Steven Mark of Chattanooga,Tennessee; 3 sisters, Rose Marie Fitch of Holly SpringsMississippi, Lounell Vise of Birmingham, Alabama and PeggyGray of Phoenix, Arizona and 2-grandchildren, Cheri Hootenand Deede Hooten of Jackson. .
