Gideon Spellings Services Sunday

DECATUR VILLE , Tenn. Services for Gideon Haskell Spellings, 76, will be at Mt. Tabor Pentecostal Church at 2 p m. Sunday with the Rev. R. B. Boyd of Bemis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Wylie Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Spellings died at his home in Decaturville early Thursday mght. He had been in ill health. He was born m Carroll County, the son of the late Gideon and Louise Bower Spellings. He had lived in Decatur County more than 50 years where he was a sawmill operator and carpenter until his retirement. Mr. Spellings designed and helped build the Mt. Tabor Church building in 1918. He was a regular attendant there with his family. Mr. and Mrs. Spellings, the former Miss Quincy Taylor, ob served their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 20, 1961. Besides his widow, he leaves one son, George Erastus Spel lings; oi Florence, Ala.; six daughters, Mrs. Mary Smith of Decaturville, Mrs. Louis Davis and Mrs. Ola Mae Davis both of Memphis, Mrs. Grace Quinn of Paris, Mrs. Yuth Yacovelli of Prescott, Ariz., and Miss Martha Kay Spellings, a teacher in Parsons Elementary School; 17 grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren; one brother. D D. Spellings of Bruceton: one sister, Miss Lula Spellings, of cruceton. His body will be at his home until services.2
