W. T. Boyd, a prominent citizen of the Eighteenth district died last Sunday night at 11:45 o'clock after an illness of six months. He was an upright exemplary citizen, highly esteemed, and a man who left his impress upon the community on which he spent his 75 years of life. He was born and reared in this county and served the public in various capacities.

Mr. Boyd was a member of the Baptist church for 60 years and served as clerk of his church for 32 years. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity for 50 years and for two years master of the lodge. He was a member of the county court for 20 years and a member of his local school board for 32 years. He was a notary public for 28 years. he was a cotton buyer and merchant for 42 years and was Postmaster at Dollar for about 20 years, from the time of the establishment of that post office until its discontinuance.

The decease was thrice married, his last wife , who was Miss Addie Melton is surviving. He first married Miss America Robinson and to this union were born five children, four of whom survive. J. R. Boyd of Rogers Ark., Rev. T. M. Boyd of Bruceton, Mrs S. W. Muzzell of Brooklyn, Ark., and Mrs. W. W. Norwood, of Jackson. After the death of his first wife he married Mrs. L. J. Hammett.

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. J. G. Cooper and Rev S. W. Joyner and the remains were interred at Oak Grove cemetery.8 2
